Is LLB through distance education valid?
Bar Council of India (BCI) regulates the legal education and legal profession in India. In order, to ensure quality law education and to monitor the standard of aspirants entering legal profession, BCI doesn’t recognize distance/ correspondence LLB. Thus, no university is allowed to offer LLB through Distance Education. However, there are several universities in India, utilizing distance education techniques in delivering Regular mode LLB Degree.

Career options after LLB Distance Education
After successfully completing the course, aspirants can practice as lawyers in any Indian court. In order to be a licenced lawyer who can practice in any Indian court, the candidate have to acquire “Certificate of Practice”, which is awarded by Bar Council of India (BCI) after passing “All India Bar Examination’” held and regulated by the BCI itself. Apart from, being a lawyer, there are wide range of career options available to the aspirants completing LLB Degree:
- Legal Advisor: can join as a legal advisor in law firms, private or corporate firms.
- Teaching: can pursuing teaching career in law schools or in any other education institutes.
- Politics: aspirants can join politics.
- Higher Education: aspirants can pursue LLM/ MBA or any other higher degree
- Public Service Commission Exams: aspirants can give PSC exams like UPSC/ MPSC
- Judicial Services: aspirants can join judiciary services like Magistrate, Public Prosecutor, etc by giving judicial service examinations.
